RBC Emerging Artists give strong foundations to our newest talent.

Dancers all have vivid memories of their first steps toward and into professional careers.  It’s a time unlike any other in a dancer’s professional life.  These moments are remembered for the crash of emotion: anxiousness, awe and elation.

The Alberta Ballet Trainee Program includes select senior students from the School of Alberta Ballet.  These students are invited to participate in company class with the Alberta Ballet dancers, are cast in ensemble roles in Alberta Ballet productions and benefit from additional performance opportunities at outreach events.  The apprentice-like experiences of the Trainee Program mirror the dynamics of working as professional dancers, assuring a stronger ability to adapt when they step into the role of full company member.

Alberta Ballet Apprentices are also embarking on a significant time in their careers as they rise to the challenges that come with their first year as a professional dancer.  Resources from the program raise the profile of the apprentices, ensuring that the milestones they reach in their first years of professional dance are shared with audiences, the media and the public.
